Moving Businesses Towards Cyber Resilience

There are concerns across the UK that SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) are not taking the necessary steps to protect themselves from cyber attacks. This also applies to adoption of the government-backed Cyber Essentials programme. The aim of this project is to (1) investigate what is deterring SMEs from pursuing Cyber Essentials accreditation, and (2) design an intervention (in video format) to engage SMEs regarding cyber risks. These videos will be designed specifically to alleviate identified deterrents. We will evaluate and refine the videos before disseminating them publicly to engage SMEs across Scotland.
